Rabbi Yisrael and Elisheva Malkiel

Hello!

We are the new chaplaincy couple, Yisrael and Elisheva Malkiel. We have two sons, Avraham and Meir.



I (Yisrael) spent the last few years teaching Jewish texts and I studied Islamic and Middle Eastern studies at the Hebrew University. I enjoy music, history of all kinds, good drinks and (good) humour!

I (Elisheva) have been working with individuals dealing with mental health disorders. I recently initiated a women’s Jewish learning programme. Oh and I love Yoga, acting and singing!

We are here to offer practical, welfare and education support. Here to be a home away from home and an educational resource. We would really like to get to know you all, so don’t be surprised if you get a call or email from us inviting you out for a drink!


Weekly Events

Food For Thought, Mondays 7.00pm, Jewish Student Centre

Come and try your hand at learning traditional Jewish texts. No experience necessary. All texts fully translated. Burgers and chips for supper.


Lunch and Learn, Thursdays 1pm, Chetwynd Room, Kings College.

Multifunction during your lunch break: listen to a challenging lecture on a topic of Jewish interest, while eating a smoked salmon bagel, and thinking of something completely
different ;)
