Cambridge University Jewish Society (CUJS) is the home of Judaism for students in Cambridge. As one of the largest societies in Cambridge, we provide an open and welcoming space to all Jewish students, regardless of your affiliation, background or level of religious observance.
From bagel brunches to Purim parties, we run a huge range of events and have something for everyone. The high point of every CUJS week is our communal Friday Night Dinner, with a lovely 3 course meal featuring everything from challah & chicken soup to a late night Tisch. Every week we have various socials, speaker events, services and discussion groups – check out our coming up section!
The best way to get involved is to come to one of our events! You can see upcoming events below, and book meals here. You can become a member here – being a member means you can run and vote for committee positions, as well as giving you £1 of Friday Night Dinners and discounts off other events. To stay up to date with everything Jsoc, we would suggest you join our Facebook group or sign up to the mailing list.

Atira Baruch was born in Teaneck NJ, living there until she made Aliyah with her family at the age of 14. After graduating High School and completing national service, she learnt for a year in Shaalvim and went on to study for a BA in Social Work at Bar Ilan University. She has practiced as a clinical social worker for the last few years, most recently working with Ultra-Orthodox Women struggling with mental health. Atira can usually be found baking (or watching GBBO!), and loves enjoying the outdoors with her husband and two children Shaya (almost 3) and Noa (2.5 months).
Rabbi Ben Baruch was born and raised in Palmers Green, where he lived until he graduated Immanuel College. For his Gap Year he went to Yeshivat Hakotel in the Old City of Jerusalem, planning to return to London to study Physics at Imperial. He ended up staying in Yeshiva for another 9 years, receiving Smicha from World Mizrachi and teaching at Hakotel and Amudim. In parallel with his Yeshiva studies, Ben graduated with a BsC in Electro-Optical Engineering from JCT and is pursuing an MA in Jewish History. Aside from a love of all things Jewish, Ben is passionate about specialty coffee, The Office (US), and spending time with his wife and kids.
